Scrapbook Time
I have all of my grandparent's original wedding photos. Their 60th Anniversary is tomorrow, so I recently scanned & printed out everything they had & put it into an album for them. Some of it is edited for the blog, but I tried to show as much of the layout details as possible. I try to use as much Creative Memories products as I can, since I feel that they are THE BEST, but I did pick up a few "cutesy" things at the scrapbook store, since I didn't have any CM products that were wedding or anniversary themed.
This is a black Creative Memories window album:
These are the pages I have so far:
One of the things I bought were these embroidered ribbon stickers:
They were super easy to use! Some are white & gray & the others are white & very light teal. I thought they were pretty. As always, click for more detail! I haven't printed out the stories I was going to put here yet. Guess I should work on that...
I just got some photos to make a page about her childhood that will go to the right of his ^
These are the cards & letters they had from their wedding showers:
Among the things I found in the box with their photos was the original typed transcript from my grandfather's father, the preacher. I retyped it on vellum & tied it into the album, so it would be easier to read. I still included the original too, but I bleeped it out because of the names:
This ribbon that I used was from a corsage my grandmother wore. I took it all apart & ironed it flat, to use it throughout the album. Here's the detail on those two pages:
I just got some more recent photos emailed to me, so I need to get them printed out & put into the album!

Mexican Cornbread
This is a great recipe to make for your family or to take to a "covered dish dinner". The amount listed here is for an 8-inch square glass baking dish, but this recipe is easily doubled for a 9X13 dish (I still use one pound of meat, just double everything else).
The onions & peppers are optional. I always leave them out & it still has plenty of flavor.
If you have leftovers, cover it & put it in the refrigerator. It still tastes great after reheating it in the microwave. Enjoy!

This One's For Me!
I finally made myself a purse. Good advertising wherever I go, right?
Start with a few of these:
My favorite color is purple, but I wanted a bit of variety, too. Here is how I laid it out:
As always, click for more detail & to read what these arrows say!
Here is one side, stitched together:
I used clear thread, tricky, huh?
Here is the side & one end, together:
The other end:
The layout again, but each of the pieces are sewn together:
Figure out how wide your sides are going to be & overlap the pouches for the bottom, to fit:
Inside view of the bottom section:
What do you give a horse with a cold? Cough stirrup!
The assembled product:
Add a handle:
Make it pretty:

All done!
